Dash
The dash is the third powerup collected in black mode. To use it, the player holds the dash button to build speed until they start moving at around 3 times their normal running speed, which allows them to travel quickly and reach once-distant ledges. In the professional circuit, the dash is an integral component of the reverse ghost flip glitch, a speedrun tactic that is used to dash through about 94% of the game in .02 seconds (the record was once .03 until recent competitive breakthroughs and is set to drop much lower in the near future).
Regular Dashing
Edit
It's pretty cool, I guess, whatever.
Reverse Ghost Flip
Edit
The reverse ghost flip will transport you from the village at the game's start to the room with the wings instantaneously and can be chained with the double vanilla shot glitch to jump to a point halfway through the final boss battle.
To perform the reverse flip, simply tap the dash button 67 times (no more, no less) in exactly 0.84 seconds while holding every arrow key, then quickly overturn your keyboard. Because of an incredible programming oversight, the motion sensor in the keyboard overrides the player's position at the data point defined by the dash button pushes. On the screen, a pair of breasts flash onscreen for approximately one frame in transition from one area to the other. The reason for these breasts' appearance is completely unknown, as it is not at all called for in the programming. Many players take this as a sign that the glitch has been blessed by the speed run Gods.
